Duty Service
Duty Service
Our duty service is short-term support provided to those who are currently experiencing, or have experienced, domestic abuse, and is a safe space to discuss and explore your feelings around these experiences. Within this, women will receive 6 to 8 sessions of triage support. Women will be allocated a support worker who will provide an empathetic and understanding ear and support you to gain an understanding of the effects of domestic abuse. Sessions can be held weekly or bi-monthly, over the phone or in our office.
The duty service accepts self-referrals and referrals from agencies, such as health or social work. If follow on support is needed, an Outreach referral can be actioned.
Quotes from women who have been supported by the duty service:
“I have been getting assistance from the duty service at WASLER whose support has honestly been lifesaving and a great support to me.”
“Being able to talk through things safely with my support worker really helped, just being able to say it out loud and knowing someone cared helped.”
